Haha! I know what you mean.

It was a relief not having to deal with texts from people I’d told: ‘hit me up later!’, hoping they wouldn’t. But having the guts to communicate that in the first place would probably achieve the same effect.

Haha! I know what you mean. I bet in those 4 months though that “Sorry I missed you! I don’t have a phone.” was a convenient line to use.
